The soybean aphid is a small yellowish insect with a pair of blackish
tailpipe-like extensions near the end of the abdomen, and a third
(not black) extension at the tip. Adults of the soybean aphid may
or may not have wings.
Adult soybean
aphids are about 1/16th of an inch (2 mm) long.
The
young look much like miniature wingless versions of the adults.
